Ladies and Gentlemen, Esteemed Stakeholders, Partners and Friends of SADI,
Following the successful launch of our leadership insight newsletter for January, I am delighted to welcome you to the second edition of From the Director’s Desk.
February has been a meaningful and inspiring month for the Southern Africa Development Institute (SADI). It has been marked by new milestones, vibrant learning engagements, and the launch of an initiative that reflects the heart of who we are as an institution.
Introducing SADI CARES
This month, we proudly launched SADI CARES—our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative and a cornerstone of our commitment to creating meaningful and sustainable impact beyond the classroom.
At SADI, we believe professional development must go hand-in-hand with community advancement. Through the collective support of our staff, partners, and stakeholders, SADI CARES will focus on empowering communities through:
- Educational support
- Skills development
- Mentorship and leadership guidance
- Environmental stewardship
- Social outreach initiatives
Through this initiative, we seek to bridge knowledge with service, ensuring that the work we do contributes not only to professional growth but also to stronger and more resilient communities.
February Programme Highlights
February was also a highly productive month for our learning and development programmes. Across South Africa, Kenya, and Dubai, SADI had the privilege of bringing together professionals, institutional leaders, and public sector practitioners committed to advancing governance, leadership, and organisational excellence.
Some of the programmes successfully delivered include:

- Strategic Cost Analysis for Public Sector Decision-Making – Pretoria

Each programme represented more than training, it was an opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen professional networks, and equip leaders with the knowledge required to navigate today’s complex institutional environments.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the coming months, we are excited about the impactful programmes scheduled for March and April. These initiatives will continue to support capacity building across key sectors and regions, reinforcing our mission of empowering professionals and institutions with the knowledge, tools, and networks needed to drive sustainable development.
At SADI, every month reminds us that progress is built through collaboration, learning, and shared purpose.
Thank you for being part of our journey. We deeply appreciate your continued support and look forward to sharing more milestones with you in our next edition.
Warm regards,
Stella Makokha Ogema
